i am glad my mom does not have so many symptoms of aging although she's still in her early 60s only some fatigue and some joint pains from constant walking. she just take MX Calcium Complex to support her bones. as early as 30, i also do take supplements because i would want to prevent any illness that comes forth to its severity.

Default Know the signs!

Throughout the world, many physicians believe that depression is a natural part of aging, but in fact, depression is not a normal part of aging. Suicide is also another major health concern among older adults suffering from depression. Older white males age 85 and older have the highest suicide rate in the United States.Depression in older adults is extremely detrimental to their life and can cause more health problems for the individual. Some consequences may include: Diminishing the quality of life for the senior, as well as for friends and loved ones; Depression increases the risk of substance abuse and substance abuse in¬creases the risk of depression; Depressed seniors are up to 3 times more likely to fall than those without depression.

Aside from prescription drugs such as antidepressants, depression in older adults can be treated in many ways. Depression in older adults can be treated differently through psychotherapy or “talk therapy.” Therapy helps the person restructure negative thought patterns and change behaviors that may contribute towards the depression. Support groups can also help link older adults to other persons going through similar problems.

Default Enhance Your Mood and Fight Depression

During the Winter months, you may feel tired, sluggish, or just not right. It's not just the lack of sunshine that causes these symptoms-- a nutrient imbalance can contribute to feeling out of sorts. There are many reasons to introduce vitamins and supplements into your healthy lifestyle, such as a positive mood, improved sleep, healthy meal choices, and weight loss. On a cellular level, vitamin B contains multiple compounds that regulate energy metabolism. A deficiency in B vitamins folate and B-12 have been linked to depression. When your body is able to readily extract nutrients from the foods you eat, you are more inclined to enjoy what you are eating and feel the nourishing benefits of a meal. This energy will keep you going throughout the day while alleviating stress. PhysioLogics Time-Release Stress B Formula contains stress-busting nutrients and the B vitamins essential for health. It's packed with quality ingredients like vitamin C, Alfalfa, Choline, and citrus fruit to tackle any low mood with a multipronged approach. One tablet daily keeps gloomy moods at bay.Additionally, the lack of sunshine during the Winter is responsible for a drop in cheerfulness. In the Pacific Northwest, almost 70% of residents are deficient in vitamin D3. Surprisingly, a deficiency in this vitamin is responsible for multiple diseases like cancer, osteomalacia (soft bones), hypertension, and diabetes. With about 50% of the world deficient in vitamin D, it's crucial to supply the recommended amount daily. BioGenesis Nutraceuticals has a formulated vitamin D supplement that is taken once daily. There is also a chewable vitamin D supplement by Pharmax. If vitamins are the chain of equilibrium in the body, then minerals are the glue that secures the bonds. Iron and zinc are two fatigue fighting minerals, relieving confusion, depression, and even social disorders. Selenium, another mineral, has been directly linked to improving depression in patients. A deficiency not only affects the organs, but the mind as well.Metabolic Maintenance's Cal/Mag/Zinc Complex with vitamin D benefits your mental health with both vitamins and minerals. By mindfully taking vitamins and supplements, you are treating your body to rich sources of pure energy and allowing it to work with less stress. Protect your body from deficiencies that can develop into painful, chronic disease. Nature's Way Alive! multivitamin is a perfect start to your day, supplying each vitamin and mineral you need in a healthy lifestyle.

I found a product which is suppose to help with depression. It supposed to create a healthy balance of omega 3 and 6 oil called chia. It's a seed which some call a super food. I got it in it's pure form from chiadirect.co.uk otherwise you have to order it from abroad where it tends to cost more. It certainly worth reading up on.

This is a common issue (sad to say =/) Many of my family members own care homes for the elderly, so I see it often. One thing that my family does for them as a remedy for depression is animal therapy. They actually went out and invested in a puppy for their clients, and made a dramatic difference! They also keep the house very homely and maintain a friendly and loving environment for them. They hold annual parties for every holiday and birthday, and invite all of their family members to join.

Yes animal therapy definitely helps! I've heard lots of good things about a local company called The Fine Canine. They help train dogs for therapy use and anyone can get involved.

It's a fantastic way to make a difference in your community as well as your family.
