I don't suffer from pollen allergies like my daughter does, so I can't experiment on myself and I certainly don't want to use her, so I am hoping someone here has tried this. Some people say that if you regularly use honey that is local to your area, you will build up a tolerance to the pollen the bees used to make the honey. Does it work?
My aunt did this with herself and her son. They had very bad allergies. You do have to be careful to get the local honey, she went to a farm nearby and bought hers. She took it in her tea, in teaspoons, and drizzled it on bread, too. For her son she gave it to him in place of jelly on his peanut butter sandwiches!
I did not know that. I suffer from allergies so I am going to give this a try. This is off subject, but I do know that honey helps with acne. It kills the bacteria in your skin. All you do is smear a thin layer on your skin, leave it on for about 10 minutes and wash off.
My husband does a teaspoon full of honey (made about a mile down the road from us) daily. It seems to help him with his allergies. I just can’t stomach that!
On the acne mentioned above, I have heard that mixing honey and cinnamon together and putting in on a bump will help dry it up. I think you have to put a band aid or something over it because of how sticky it is.
For me it worked pretty well.I have terrible allergies at times..lol
I was told to buy 'local' honey and to use it.It worked for me.I would not say it was a 'cure' but it sure helped me alot,as long as I stayed on the honey.
Once I didn't take it of course, things flaired up again.
I think I will let my daughter give it a try then. We have a beekeep right down the road, so the honey is probably from our own yard I have never heard of the acne treatment, I will have her try that, too!
