Default A good friend with a bad problem

One of my friends has an Anger Management Problem.
There was once that he got furious over having missed a movie, that he started screaming at the rest of us in the car.
We tried calming him down, of course, but that didn't work.
He finally opened the door, and jumped out of the moving car!
It was one of the scariest instances.

That is a very simplistic view of controlling anger. My friend has a psychological anger problem. He goes for therapy regularly, and at times is even prescribed medication.
It is very different dealing with 'An angry person', and a person with an anger problem.

Yes, people around these kind of persons should be extra careful.
We already know their condition, so should be well prepared.
  • Stay calm.
  • Give up your self-defense because in their mind your are already guilty.
  • Protect your self-esteem,there is no point of getting angry on a person who is himself sick.

I think maybe that he is just a bit stressed.
I like the solutions pointed out by vickyk. They are all true. I have seen these work on some of my friends.

I also suggest that your friend should go to this site to know how can he control his anger:
How to Control Anger

That is right, vickyk had some good suggestions.
I did not visit that site as my friend is already going to a professional.
I went to the professional as well to find out how to deal with my friend when he got into one of his 'rages'.

Anger Management has become a major problem nowadays. All of us are so stressed, that it is easy to lose control at times.
Meditation and yoga does help a lot - they are ancient therapies and have stood the test of time

Anger can cause ailments such as high blood pressure and many heart diseases. I feel the best option to manage the anger is to remain calm during the situations where you feel that you will loose your temper. Also regular meditation practice can help in anger management.
