Default Head injury

Recently my daughter climbed onto to the kitchen table and fell head first and hit her head leaving a large goose egg and the start of the skin spliting. I am glad that my husband who happens to be a nurse was here as he said to immediately apply ice to the area to keep the welling down and the skin from spliting further. I did not realize at the time that it would do this, but it makes sense that if you keep the area from swelling that you will then in turn keep the skin from spliting more than it already has.

Oh, that must have been scary! I remember the same thing happening to me when I was younger, and my parents applied ice right away too. Head injuries can be serious business; my younger sister got a concussion from banging her head once. I hope your little girl is okay!
