Default Skin graft scars fading?

My DH had a skin graft on his arm about 5 years ago. We just noticed that the scarring seems to be fading. (Pleasant surprise!) I always thought that scars like this would never really fade. Has anyone ever heard of this happening before?

Well, we’re just glad it’s fading. Skin grafts, at least his skin grafts, have a patterned, bumpy look to them. It has something to do with how the grafted skin was treated before being put in place on his arm. (Almost like a cherry pie crust pattern—cross hatched.) But now, even that patterned scarring has faded so much that it is hardly noticeable.
