Peptic ulcers are small tiny wounds on the surface of the internal mucosal lining of the stomach, first part of small intestine (duodenum) or esophagus (food pipe) due to stomach acid. An ulcer causes where the lining of the gut is damaged and underline tissue becomes exposed.
Duodenum is most common site for peptic ulcer.
There are many classifications of ulcer depending on the region or the area of affection like gastric ulcer affect stomach region. The esophageal ulcer affects oesophagus and the duodenal ulcer affects duodenum.
How is ulcer formed?
Mucosal lining is a protective barrier of inner side of stomach which is responsible for secreting enzymes and acid, used in digestion.it also protect the stomach tissue from a very highly acidic environment of the stomach.
When food passes down the oesophagus into the stomach, normally stomach cells produce an acid called as gastric acid which helps in break down and digestion of food. It also helps to kill harmful bacteria’s present in. This acid is so corrosive (strong) that some cells in mucosal lining of the stomach and duodenum produces mucus as a natural barrier to protect the mucosal lining from the attack of acid. This insoluble mucus forms a protective gel-like coating over the entire surface of the gastric and duodenal mucosal lining and protects the stomach and duodenum tissues from destructions.
But when there is destruction of underneath mucosal layer because of some following given causes, acid directly comes contact with underline sensitive exposed stomach or duodenum cell, causing inflammation and ulcer.
Causes- Excessive production of acid
- Hereditary
- stress
- Infections with helicobacter pylori
- This bacterium causes an inflammation in the lining of the stomach or duodenum. Causing destruction of protective mucosal layer which allows the acid to cause inflammation and ulcers in mucosal layer of stomach and duodenum.
Anti-inflammatory drugs - including aspirin, , ibuprofen, diclofenac,
Risk factors- Zollinger- Ellison syndrome. ( a condition of excessive acid production)
- Smoking
- Mental and physical Stress

Homeopathic medicines directly stimulate our disturbed immune power and make it able to fight with any changes occurred in the body. In simple words homeopathy doesn’t treat any diseases, instead of that it boost up natural immune (healing) power of the body and self-cure takes place without creating any side effect. Such type of immunity stimulating treatment is called as constitutional approach.

He asks many questions regarding stress, struggle, failures, adjustments, and sorrow in his life also physical symptoms like desires, aversion, perspiration, discharge, stool, urine, sleep, dreams and reactions to temperature. Then, he selects the best possible remedy which fits the above criteria of patient.
Constitutional medicine can give soothing effect to mucosal lining by controlling infection and inflammation of bacteria and promote natural faster healing of ulcer. Constitutional medicines can maintain a balance between acid secretion and mucus production that mean body produce required quantity of acid and mucus which prevent the further new formation of ulcer. Homeopathic medicines can also reduce infections catching tendency of body by strengthening the immune power .Thus recurrent attack of ulcer is totally prevented.
With homeopathy diseases is treated from root cause and its more growth is aborted at very early stage so that chances of complication like perforation, obstruction, anemia is completely reduced.
Our medicines are in form of energy; they can alter the defect in genes which helps to prevent or postpone the transfer of ulcer from one generation of family to other. So person from high risk family can be prevented for ulcer.
Homeopathic in acute flares of ulcer
With the help of many acute medicines we can control the sudden and emergency attack of pain, burning, fullness, chest pain and offer quick relief to patients. Medicines can reduce severity and duration of attack.
As all symptoms are governed by homeopathy so beautifully so we can reduce frequent need of allopathic painkiller, antacids in acute attack and save patients from excessive side effects of these drugs.
