Default What characteristics must caregivers must have?

Caregivers are professionals who are responsible in giving care to the patient they are attended for. Most caregivers are very patient cause they cannot last for this job if you have no this. They care for their job, caring people who really needs help.

I think one of the most important things is that a caregiver must be patient.
I do not mean to make a joke 'patient with the patient', but I'm talking seriously.
Another thing is that they must be polite, and competent enough to handle the person they have been assigned to.

Patience is important.Dedication for their job, always ready to give a hug, loving and caring are needed to become a caregivers.Sometimes the patient may have sudden change in mood, understanding and handling them is a tough job.

I think they need to be psychologists more than nursing aids or caregivers - they need to be able to understand and deal with mental as well as physical problems

That is a rather interesting thought!
I didn't look at it that way before.

In fact it is true, at times a patient may not be able to voice their problem, or need of help of the caregiver, yet the caregiver must be attentive enough to provide assistance!
