Lightbulb Natural Parenting

Are there any other natural parents in the room? Those who use natural techniques with their child and natural medicines. Such a medicine would include gripe water for colic or homeopathic tablets for teething. I also use natural products such as Aveeno, Baby Bee and Seventh Generation.

I'd consider myself a "natural" parent as far as health care products and food goes. I try very hard to only give my kids homeopathic cold medicine, etc. I subscribe to Mothering Magazine and always look for their product recommendations, such as the best non-chemical sunscreen, etc.

We try to eat organic produce as much as possible and we stay away from foods and drinks with too many processed ingredients, and definitely no aspartame, etc. In fact, as far as food goes, if the product has sugar listed in the first three ingredients, we skip it. Yes, we give the occasional treat, but for the most part we try to steer clear of treats and processed foods.

Oh I love Mothering Magazine! I got these free from my prenatal appointments when I was pregnant and it was then embed in my head that I would breastfeed, co-sleep and baby wear! The subscription is so pricey, though. So I don't currently have a subscription. You know, I just bought this organic lemonade I'll have to share about sometime. I don't recall the name but it is SO good and not sickly sweet either.

I was not aware of Mothering Magazine. I try to watch what I give my child, and I attempt to make the best choices. I do not allow her to eat meats or cow’s milk. I use Morning Side Farms “fake meat” products to give her. I also give her only soy milk. I may have to read up on Mother’s Magazine to get some ideas for natural remedies.
