Default Best Sanitizing Products

With cold and flu season on the horizon, I thought I would ask what sanitizing products you use. I am a germ-a-phobic. I carry around “Wet One Sanitizing Wipes” in my purse, diaper bag, and in every car. I was just wondering what everyone else uses. Maybe I am overlooking a great product, so please share. I would also be interested in natural products too.

Yes, I am extra careful with the swine flu and other types of sicknesses that's going around this season. I always keep Purell hand sanitizer on me at all times and I make sure to wash my hands often. I might add some wipes to my routine.

I always carry around some hand sanitizer, and I try to clean often.

I too am a germ-a-phobic. In the past, I would get really sick at least twice a year. I missed tons of work too. I started really washing my hands and using hand sanitizer religiously. Since I work in an office that shares phones and computers, I Lysol everything down before I touch it and constantly use my hand sanitizer. I use Purell but also have a huge container of Germ-X in my kitchen that I love. It smells so good. You know, people make comments sometimes because I am so "clean" but I can tell you that while everyone is sick around me, I have not gotten even the common cold in a LONG time. The Germ-X that I love is Morning Fresh scent with moisturizing Vitamin E.

I thought I would update my post here just for the kick of it. I guess I should have "knocked on wood" when I last posted. Why? Because I have been sick for almost 1 week! Haven't been sick all year-and BAM--just in time for the holidays!

I will still be religious with my hand sanitizing, frequent hand washing and using Lysol because I feel taking those measures kept me from getting sick as frequently as I could have. This was a bad cold/flu season and everyone was sick around me...I mean everyone. It was bound to happen I guess.

For around the house, I use a 10% bleach solution. I know, I need to be careful about "dripping" anything and ruining the carpet, but this is what we used to sanitize everything in the "clean rooms" along with diluted alcohol and a special soap. A clean room is similar to an operating room, only there is no tolerance for any "germs". So, out of habit, I use this at home too.

I agree-bleach is a great way to disinfect. I am always so nervous I am going to drip it--especially on the carpets. I have read vinegar is good too and started cleaning my bathrooms and kitchen with it. My husband can't stand the smell though. He says it smells like he walked into a big salad bar when he walked into the house the other day.
