I was wondering if anyone here has ever had a bad reaction to a flu shot? Three years ago I had a severe (to me anyways) reaction to the flu shot. I lost control on one side of my body-- everything spun to the right- I got extremely sick because of the resulting vertigo. I really thought I was having a stroke at the time. Although I had no lasting problems from the shot, the doctor said I should not ever get flu shots again. I was wondering if this type of reaction is common?

    

I've never gotten the flu shot but my friend just got it a few weeks ago and she got sick as a dog. She says it was definitely the flu. From what I heard, some people may get a little bit sick but my friend basically caught the flu from the flu shot. She was sick in bed for a week. I think that's rare though. She's the first person I've ever heard of who had a bad reaction.

You know, everything I’ve read says that a person can’t get the flu from the flu shot since it’s a “killed” virus, but I’ve heard so many cases where people say they have gotten the flu from the shot and not just a minor reaction. I know they are not imagining their symptoms. It makes you wonder if more research needs to be done.
