Have you had a tooth implant done ?
My husband has - it cost a lot - but he is very happy with it. I have to have one done - and I am still dithering about it. The gap is too large for a bridge to be installed.
Whatever happened to dentures ?

I had some teeth problems, and it would have been cheaper in the long run to just pull all my teeth and get dentures. My dentist said that it is better to have your own teeth, but I think he just wants that money. I could be wrong though, but dental work is expensive.

Dentures aren't good. They wear away your jaw bone and they have to be replaced every few years.
I read that implants help keep your jaw bone strong.
I am in braces right now but I'll be getting 2 molar implants. My ortho didn't recommend a bridge because they have to shave your good teeth down and it's not worth messing up some good teeth.
MM145, I don't mean to be nosey, but how much did it cost your husband to get the implant. I am assuming I'm going have to pay at least $4000 per implant...maybe more since it's a molar. Plus we have to pay for the crowns so that's another $500 each. I am not looking forward to spending all that money but I desperately need to get my teeth fixed. I had my molars pulled when I was 14 years old so my bottom teeth were all twisted and tipped. I had big gaps. it was not a pretty sight. My speech was also suffering and I was starting to experience TMJ problems.

I'm not even sure what a tooth implant is. Actually, from the title of this thread I thought this would be discussing breast implants. I would never get them, but at least they're available for others who want them. Good luck with your tooth implant if you get it.
