Default How do I keep from getting plaque?

I know that you're supposed to brush your teeth a certain way (I've read everything I can on how to properly brush your teeth), and I know you're supposed to floss. I do that. I also use a waterpick, brush my teeth after every single meal (and snack) and have used Plax but I still get tons of plaque. Are there any tricks that you do to keep your teeth sparkly clean? How can I get rid of the annoying plaque? I get my teeth cleaned every 3-4 months because it is really bad. Please help.

I bought one of those dental tool kits that have the scrappers like the dentist uses. I try to use that. Also you could try wiping your teeth down with a dry wash cloth or gauze when they are feeling icky. This way you are saving some of your enamel since it isn’t quite as harsh as brushing.

Do you chew a lot of gum, or use mints? I always have more build up on my teeth when I have been eating a lot of them.

Gum causes build up??? I didn't know that. My son and I are gum addicts. Maybe that's my problem. I am going to buy one of those dental tool kits and chew less gum. Thank you so much for replying.

Ooh.. plaque has been my pain area for a long time.. I get regular dental cleanings done.. Now am very conscious about flossin right, brushing after meals and yup, have got myself a dental cleaning kit like @fireladyst2. Ask your dentist to recommend one.. plaque can be quite harmful to teeth and oral health..
