Default Fruits and Diabetis

Hi,

so here is the thing.

I am pretty much a healthy eater. My only poison of choice is chips and even then, I don't eat a lot of it.

6 days a week, everything I eat is natural. 90% fruits 10% vegetables, only because fruits is easier to prepare and i am very busy. once a week, I have a cheat day when i eat everything i want. however, i still don't eat red meat (i never did). it's mostly as much of my mother's home cooked meals.

someone told me that my diet could give me diabetis because fruits have high sugar content. in my mind, i feel like that is not true because it's natural anyway.

can anyone enlighten me on this please.

Well it seems like that you can eat fiber fruits. Fruits that help you process your digestion because they control your blood sugar. There is also a product called Genesis. It has Resveratrol which increase the good cholesterol and decreases LDL.

Well check out the link in my signature. Maybe it will help.

I checked all over the net as got really interested in your question. Everyone says that fruits must be taken even with diabetes. They are sweet indeed, but it's not sugar, it's fructose. What is really healthy, and I agree with chipper7777, that fruits have fiber, which is needed for life. Of course, you shouldn't drink bought fruit juices, as they all have sugar.

Here you can read more about fruits and diabetes - diabetes.org/food-and-fitness/food/what-can-i-eat/fruits.html. What I didn't like in this article is that they suggest eating canned fruits as well. Well, depends on how canned they were. But I would prefer fresh fruits, they do have more vitamins.

Hope it was helpful. Take care

Default Fruits in Diabities

Of all the fruits, apple is the one with all the valuable nutrients. Apple is rich in pectine, which is found in its pulp. This pectine is the source of galacturonic acid, which is needed for cleaning the harmful, toxic substances from your body. This acid also works in the direction of decreasing your body's need of insulin by around 35%. Besides being rich in pectin, apples are also rich in Vitamin B1. Vitamin B1 prevents the damage of the brain cells that can occur due to diabetic acidosis. It also prevents further complications such as neurosis. So the saying goes apt “An apple a day keeps the doctor away.”

Apart from apple, grapefruit has several appetizing properties that helps you fight diabetes. Its refreshing nature helps you to bring down your blood glucose levels
within a time span of just three days. But just a diet of grapefruit is not enough. With it you will be required to take more of vegetables and fruits rather than diet rich in fats.

In the list of anti-diabetic fruits, rose apple or commonly known as jambul, is something that we cannot forget. The elements present in jambul have strong positive effects on your pancreas. As a result it prevents the conversion of starch into bad sugar, thus controlling your blood sugar levels. The seeds of this fruit are used in a dried, powdered form and taken with water. Apart from controlling diabetes, it also allays your thirst and prevents excessive urination.

Hi Chipper!

I noticed from your post above that you eat 90% fruits, 10% vegetables...I know this may seem like a silly question, however, I feel like I need to ask lol

Does your "diet" consist of any protein or carbs (aside from what you get from the fruits and veggies)?

As for whether or not it can give you diabetes, I'm not sure as I am not an expert in that field, but the lack of other nutrients does concern me....

Just wondering

Cool

Actually it has been proven that the fruits are good for you, unlike processed sugar.
The fruit of the Nopal Cactus are highly beneficial in stabilizing blood sugar levels.
This answers the question I have been asked a lot,

Can Nopalea Help Normalize Blood Sugars and Treat Diabetes?
Here is one of my articles addressing this question-
Just search ezine articles for "Can Nopalea Help Normalize Blood Sugars and Treat Diabetes?"
If I can help or you want to know more please ask..
