Default People with diabetes can't eat anything sweet?

I came across this article it is really interesting but then it puts me in all doubts

People with diabetes can't eat anything sweet.
(Article) Relax -- despite what you may have heard, a piece of cake or a couple of cookies won't cause a health crisis. In fact, sweets can be eaten in moderation by people with type 2 diabetes, if eaten as part of a healthy meal plan and combined with exercise, according to the American Diabetes Association.

Still, while avoiding sweet treats isn't mandatory, limiting them is. Sweets often contain not only empty calories but a lot of sugar, a carbohydrate that raises glucose levels considerably. For better glucose control, diabetics should have dessert only after a low-carb meal. It's important to eat that chicken breast, broccoli, and salad before dishing into some ice cream.(article)

there is more in the article(12 Common Diabetes Myths Debunked) that make me wonder.

i want to know can i take this in consideration

thanks you

Well my personal opinion based on my health and research...

Sugar, flour, and high fructose corn syrup are bad for humans and they will kill us if eaten regularly.

So diabetes or no, my family and I stay away from simple carbs as much as we can. If you want to learn more about why we do this, I highly, highly recommend the book Good Calories, Bad Calories by Gary Taubes which is an excellent review of nutrition, heart disease, and diabetes research. A lot of the 'facts' we think we know are based on flawed science.

If you want a more moderate diet, I would limit sweets to 1 to 2 times a week. The rest of the time, I would get my sweet fix from fruit.

The one thing that always stood out to me in my anatomy and physiology classes in college is that the pancreas has a fixed capacity. Unlike other organs in the human body, the pancreas can exhaust itself if we overload it with sugar and carbs. It can only make so much insulin in a lifetime and once you use it all up, it's gone. So that right there is the incentive to limiting carbs.

Type II diabetes means your pancreas is already impaired. Eating more sugar just means it will deteriorate faster.

You don't have to go crazy and never eat sweets ever again, but you do want to control it and limit it to preserve whatever pancreas function you can for as long as possible.

They can still eat sweets but in moderation. Also, it is best that if they crave for sweets, they take honey instead.

Controlling of diets is important in daibetis; initially less suger and carbohydrates and a bit more protein- that's what is required.
