My boyfriend has some of these symptoms...blurry vision and poor wound healing. He also feels dizzy now and then. His doctor has him on meds for diabetes but he's never been tested for it. Do doctors usually just go by symptoms or should he be tested?

My father has type 2 diabetes. Suddenly, he lost a lot of weight and he felt very weak. He frequently urinates and craves for sweets like an addict.

My brother-in-law was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes a few years ago. He just knew something was wrong because of his constant need to urinate. Once diagnosed he started a diet and exercise plan and lost a lot of weight and no longer has diabetes. The nice thing is that it is reversible.

You better consult a doctor when symptoms persist to test your blood sugar.

Family history, over weight, eating suits, not taking exercise are among the reasons that would lead to diabetis.
