Yes, that's true. People who are vegetarians often lack Vitamin D and Calcium. Many vegetarians are also vegans and do not consume milk or other sources of dairy. Since dairy is our main source of calcium, avoiding it puts our bones in serious trouble. Also Vitamin D is commonly found in animal foods, such as fish or fish oil. But the strictest of vegetarians--the ones who only eat plant food--often avoid fish. And so they don't get their calcium or their Vitamin D.
