I know some schools here where I live had been offering it for $20. Years ago, I used to take my son to the health department to get shots for $10. We have health insurance now so I don't know if that's a good deal or not. Our co-pay is $20 so with insurance it comes out to be about the same as those two places...I wonder how much it costs to get a shot from our doctor without insurance???

If you don't have health insurance, (or even if you do) you can get vaccinations at your local Health Department. Look up their number in the phone book and ask them when/if they can give you a vaccination. I don't know if it's the same in every state, but here where I live they will give you your shots for free if you don't have insurance, or for just $5 for other situations.

No. I will not be getting the swine flu vaccine. My husband and kids will not be getting it either. They were giving them to the kids at my daughters school and most parents declined the vaccine too. I don't have anything negative to say about the swine flu vaccine. For some reason I just don't feel confident in it.

Have you all gotten your shots yet? Are they available where you live? We haven't gotten ours. There's none available except for a few thousand which has been reserved for people who don't have health insurance. So we are still waiting but I would really like to get my son the shot as soon as possible. I hate having to wait...

I got the H1N1 as soon as it was available in Vancouver, Canada - about a month ago exactly. I don't usually get the flu shot at all, but I had a very strong feeling I should get the Swine Flu vaccine. While I was there they gave me the regular shot too. I had a very strong reaction though - which I was warned about. I could barely move my arms for about 2 days.

H1N1 vaccine is now available anywhere and everywhere but you have to meet the certain criteria to get it.

In Canada, it's available to everyone, no criteria.
