Default When to get an eye exam if pregnant?

It has been several years since I have been to the eye doctor and know that I need to go in for an exam. However, I am currently pregnant and due in a few weeks. I have heard that during pregnancy your eye sight may change and that it is best to wait to have an exam if possible. Only problem is that I am not sure how long I should wait. I can see without my glasses and can legally drive, but it is helpful when reading or sewing so timing in not critical but do not want to go to early and have things change because of my pregnancy.

That's funny, I never heard of that. I read so many Parenting and Pregnancy magazines when I was pregnant and never came across that. It makes total sense though! I'd say if you are having trouble with your eyes, definitely go in for a checkup. If you feel normal, just wait it out.

I've heard that too. I have meant to ask my OB about it but kept forgetting. Maybe I can remember for my next appointment.

I got my glasses over 3 years ago, after my daughter was born. I wasn't out from work quite 3 months, and I had the glasses when I went back to work, so I got them within 3 months of her birth. They've served me just fine so far. Of course, it is a bit hard for me to tell if I need new ones or not, because I'm nearsighted in one eye and farsighted in the other, so they sort of balance each other out a bit. I know I should probably go in for another eye exam after my son is born, though, since it's been over 3 years.
