I am also in habit of using computer almost half a day, though i have never felt headache due to that but still i am sure that would be affecting my eye side.and it get worse when you are doing some stressful work on computer.
So always try to sit in a proper relaxed posture.

P.S thanks guys for all your lovely tips, they are so helpful for me at least :>

Default Re: Computer's effects on eyes

It is very effective and harmful for our eyes. computer users do often
complain of eye related symptoms such as eyestrain, headaches, fatigue, dry eyes, and difficulty focusing, These symptoms CVS however are caused not by the computer screen itself but rather by the conditions surrounding the computer screen, such as poor lighting or improper placement of computer equipment and computer furniture. In some instances, a pre-existing eye problem may be the cause.

I am in front of a computer all day at work and at home, from when I wake up until I go to bed at night. It has been this way for a little over a decade and my eye sight has gotten progressively worse over the years, but my optometrist suspects it's not much worse than it would have been if I hadn't spent nearly every waking our in front of a computer screen. The majority of my eyesight problem comes from astigmatism, so I am still a great candidate for lasic eye surgery.

My parents both needed glasses (although my mother has had Lasic surgery done) and they both have problems with dry eyes and my mother gets headaches from staring at the computer for too long. I spend much more time at the computer than either of them, and I don't experience dry eyes or headaches hardly ever. Maybe later down the road I will run into trouble, but as of now I am completely fine. Just my 2¢
