Default Plantar Fascitis

Hi,
My husband suffers from acute pain in his feet right when he wakes up and it gets better as he walks around. I've done some reading up on the condition and it turns out it is called Plantar fascitis. Massaging the feet, soaking them in hot water and wearing supportive shoes is the treatment recommended. Was wondering if anyone knows anything more about how to treat it so it gets better soon.
Thnxs

I had a major problem with this, and when I was in the military my arch ended up collapsing because of it. My doctor said you should wear arch supportive shoes, and change them every 6 months. It is a good idea to do calf stretches before bed and as soon as you get up. I just put my hands on the wall and kick one leg back and stretch each leg out. I also had a brace they gave me to sleep in at night to keep your foot from falling forward. The boot helps so when you get up in the morning your tendon doesn’t tear due to the inactivity.
This can be very painful; I had to be in a cast because I didn’t listen to the doctor. Oh, one more thing is use a tennis ball and rub your foot across it to massage your foot.

Great suggestions, fireladyst2.. Will have him do all of this, especially, the tennis ball thing.. It sounds like a really scary thing.. pls the pain gets so bad that he can hardly walk, much less drive or jog. any idea if acupressure therapy would do some benefit or will it be harmful, instead??
