I was going to suggest a Pedegg also but after using that try rubbing olive oil or almond oil into your feet as well and then cover them with cotton socks for the night. It shouldn't take too long to fix them then.

I find that the Pedegg does NOT work! If I were you, I wouldn't waste my money on this product. The only time this does work if your heels are only a little bit cracked. Anything more than that must be treated in other ways. Save the receipt on the Pedegg if you do buy it.

I have found the best solution for cracked heels is vaseline and socks. I put vaseline on my heels and bottom of my feet and wear some night warms socks to bed overnight. Doing this about 3 times a week will leave your feet (and heels) soft and supple. Hope that helps!

Once her cracks heal and aren't bleeding anymore (this may take several weeks of applying lotion and socks--maybe add some neosporin too) try a glycolic acid cream. Glycare makes an elbow/heel cream.

Glycolic acid breaks the bonds of dead skin on the body making it easy to peel off.

Combine daily use of the glycolic acid cream with epsom salt soaks several times a week and regular filing of the heels and your friend should see an improvement. I have a terrible time with my heels and this works for me.

As for going to get a pedicure, infections are possible. Most salons don't disinfect between clients. If your friend goes for a pedicure, tell her to try and get the first appt of the day because salons do sanitize with bleach as part of their daily clean up so she'll be the first to use the equipment. Also, she shouldn't shave before her pedicure, microscopic nicks in the skin from shaving can give infection a foothold.

Hi Violet,
Thanks for the great advice.. Infact, I've picked up glycolic acid cream for myself too.. And the tip abt getting the first appt. of the day is immensely helpful. Thanks for sharing these.
Blessings

Have you guys tried using a foot scrub, such as Freeman's Foot Scrub. I used to use that, and it was very effective and it smelled nice. Also, have you tried other exfoliation methods, such as Loofahs and Brushes.

When you go to sleep at night, try applying Vaseline or an extremely thick moisturizer to your foot and put on a cotton sock. You will wake up with super soft feet.

I had purchased The Made from Earth Lavender Calm Lotion and fell in love with the product. This bottle is huge and will probably last me about 4 months (I use it every day in generous amounts). I highly recommend it for anyone who is looking for a moisturizer for their cracked feet or heels.
