Cracked Heels
Hi everyone,
A friend of mine is suffering from really bad cracked heels. They hurt a lot and they even, bleed at times. While I have told her that it was coz she wasnt paying attention to her feet, I dont know how to help her. Should she get a good pedicure done or will that cause infections?? Is there a good foot cream that she can like slather on and wait for the cracks to heal? Any advice will be helpful

It could be athletes foot! Just tell her to buy some cream (or spray) for athletes foot from WalMart. They all work...I know because my husband gets it all the time so my mom is always sending us different brands. I've caught it too and have had the same symptoms as your friend. Dry cracked feet and pain! Tell her to wash her sheets in clorax and to wash her shower/bathroom with clorax too. If she doesn't, the fungus will still be there waiting for its next victim!

I get really bad dry heals that have gotten to the point that they crack and bleed-and boy does it hurt to walk on my feet when they get like that. I can't even begin to name everything I have tried to get rid of it-but nothing worked until I made a few changes:
I stopped wearing sandals 24/7-I loved them and wore them everywhere! Once I started wearing socks and shoes-major difference!
I am not your typical woman-I don't think I have ever paid for a manicure or pedicure-but once I started doing them at home-my feet felt 100 times better. I use the PedEgg or any pumice stone after a warm/bath or shower and put on foot lotion afterward. I see a HUGE difference in how my feet look and feel.
When I get lazy and don't keep up with them, they get back to the way they were. Sometimes I hate doing my feet but I know if I don't, they will get hard and hurt again. For a treat, my husband will sometimes do them for me-I love that!

Hi,
Thanks everyone. Have told her to get a good ped done professionally once and then, follow it up at home and also, told her to buy a foot spray and mositurize her feet. hopefully, things will start to look better, literally and figuratively.

My feet live for the nightly Ped Egg. I believe this is the greatest at home invention for feet! After I use it I put on lotion and thick socks and leave them on over night.
I was still getting dry cracks that would bleed, which made it hard to Ped Egg over. I wear sandals and flip flops all the time so I will have to try wearing socks and shoes now to see if that helps. Thank you for that, it never occurred to me.

I swear to you, this product (well not this brand, but the type of product itself) is what saved me and my heels:
It's a razor with a blade that removes dead skin from the heels. You take a shower first or just soak your feet and then use the shaver. I'm telling you, nothing, absolutely nothing I have ever used works as good as this for repairing dry heels!
I finish off with miracle foot cream and heavy socks and this really works. Tell her to try it out.

Hi esper_d,
Thanks for recommending this.. Will forward the info to her.. Hopefully, nightly scrubs and regular pedicures will help her.. She needs to be on her feet a lot, is mom to a toddler, and feet that hurt are a big problem. Thanks again.

Yes, the callus razor is great. You just have to be very careful with it. My heels were so dry and cracked when I first used the razor, I did not realize how deep I was going. Needless to say, I cut myself pretty badly. I still have a little scar from it. Since then, I am a little nervous to use it. They warn you about that though-I just did not feel it since my feet were in such bad condition.
