Default psoriasis herbal treatment

Psoriasis Effect on the Quality of Life:

Psoriasis is a disease whose main symptom is gray or silvery flaky patches on the skin which are red and inflamed underneath. In the United States, it affects 2 to 2.6 percent of the population, or between 5.8 and 7.5 million people. Commonly affected areas include the scalp, elbows, knees, arms, stomach and back. Psoriasis is autoimmune in origin, and is not contagious. Around a quarter of people with psoriasis also suffer from psoriatic arthritis, which is similar to rheumatoid arthritis in its effects. Psoriasis was first given that name in complete differentiation from other skin conditions by the Austrian dermatologist Ferdinand von Hebra in 1841, although there are what are believed to be descriptions of the disease in sources going back to ancient Roman and possibly even biblical times.

Hi dree23,
Psoriasis is affecting lives of many. But the ray of hope is that herbal remedies can also improve the quality of life of these patients to some extent. Some of the herbs like Bitter Gourd Juice, Burdock, Buttermilk, Cabbage, Calendula, Carrot, Carrot seed oil, Cashew nut etc can be tried for curing psoriasis. You can refer to mamaherb.com and search for psoriasis you will get lots of home remedies there, these are very safe as well.

Hello Friends......

Psoriasis is a widespread and chronic skin related disorder. Plaque psoriasis is the most common type of psoriasis encountered world wide and is characterized by red skin covered with silvery scales and inflammation. Patches of round to oval shaped red plaques that itch or burn are characteristic of plaque psoriasis. The patches are generally found on the arms, legs, trunk, or scalp but may be found on any part of the skin. The most archetypal areas are the knees and elbows.

Thanks

During a conversation with a holistic aesthetictician (hope it's spelled correctly!), she mentions that psoriasis sufferers are finding great results in using Emu oil externally as well as internally.

Has anyone heard the same?
