I personally have no problem with helping those that are not able to pay for insurance on their own due to the cost vs. what they make in income or help for those that are not employed due to the economy. However, I do not want nor do I like the idea of socialized medicine. I have heard too many horror stories from people in other countries that are forced to wait for treatments, have few or no choices in who or where they receive medical treatment. I have even heard stories from them on how what should have been curable problems/a high possibility of curablity if treated early are now killing a family member because they live in a country with socialized medicine and it took 6 months to a year to see a specialist to treat them. This is something that I fear could happen in our country eventually if some of the policies being talked about in Washington make it through.

The way I understood it was that it wasn’t going to be a program for all (that doesn't mean however that they won't try to control something that would affect all).

You need to qualify (have a need) for health care if you couldn’t afford it elsewhere and needed it. I’m certain everything that is in this bill is not necessary however I do think some points being made against it are exaggerated unfortunately. It is taking much time away from people wanting to learn about what is really there in black and white.
