Default Are FSA's worth it?

I am having a hard time deciding if an FSA (Flexible Spending Account) is worth it. My employer has offered one for a few years now but I always decline it. Now that I can not afford health insurance for the whole family, I hear putting money into something like an FSA could help out since the money is deducted pre-tax from my earnings. I could then use those pre-tax dollars for medical care and things like medications, etc. It all sounds so confusing.

Nobody really takes advantage of it at work so I can't ask anyone about their experiences. Anyone here have any helpful information or care to share their opinions on FSA's?

I could find a lot of benefits of having an HSA (Health Savings Account) with a high deductible insurance plan online, but my employer doesn't offer that option.

I love my FSA and always max out the amount I am allowed to put on it each year. Why not?? You will be spending the money anyway, and this way, it is pre-tax!!
