Default Checking out a doctor

Is there a way for the general public to check a list of complaints against a particular doctor?

I would of thought is by checking the website of hospital or what ever or by ringing them up and asking if there are any complaints on a certion doctor as you have the right to ask.

Do they actually give out that kind of information?

I think the best way is by asking people you know have gone to that doctor. That way the hospital won't be able to cover up their asses and you get a nice, truthful response from that person.

Or at least you should get it... :P

Asking around other people is a good option. I doubt the hospital administrators will tell you that one of their doctors have complaints against them.

Just a suggestion, only go to a very trusted doctor in your place. If you will change doctors, ask for a referral from your old doctor to see to it that that doctor has a good reputation.

Haaha Well you never know but they may. But i very much doubt that. But some doctors are only on for there for a year as they are there for training they go to a different hospital and cut people up there :P

Instead of all that, you could also just go for a second opinion to a different hospital.
I know that I've done that in the past, and no one found out that I doubted the credibility of the first professional.

I think if the doctor is local, then its better to ask our family members or neighbors who have visited him.If he is from a hospital, then asking hospital authorities is must.Hopefully they will give a unbiased reply.

Yes, that is a great way too!
However, there was once when I got into an argument with an aunt because she felt my doctor wasn't good enough for her children to go to.
Such instances can turn ugly :-/

Honestly, there are doctors that are good in your experiences but bad for others.
I once suggested a pediatrician to a neighbor. That pedia is good from my own experiences when he is handling my medical conditions. But the result of the examinations doesn't look good on our neighbor so she didn't go back to him.
