This is call that you should take with the advise of a cardiac surgeon.
Based on personal experience in my family, one surgeon advised my relative to go in for surgery, which my relative was very reluctant to do (opening of the chest, heart.... put him off). He consulted another doctor who suggested a course of medicine and regular tests to see whether there was any improvement.
It has been 20 years ard that person is still okay.
You must consult a doctor and you must take a second (even a third) opinion.
