Hey so I got a call from my doctor telling me that an echocardiogram i had done had come back with the result of a large mass in my heart, she is referring me to a cardiologist. this is all i know... I've been trying to do research on masses in the heart but nothing is coming up on google except tumors which i still dont know much about...

if you could tell me a bit about what it could be and what it would mean i'd greatly appreciate it...

I think the doctor is right. Going to the cardiologist seems to be the best option for this problem. The heart is a fragile organ and you should not take any kind of risk with it. Take adequate measures and treatment at the earliest.
