Default Recommended Hysterectomy

I'm ready to hear all the details. Should I or shouldn't I have a hysterectomy done? After my second child I was told I needed one but I didn't have it done and my third son years later. Now I have a prolapsed uterus and they are again recommending a hysterectomy. One doctor told me it was my only option but I got a second opinion and learned about the ring that could be put in place to hold the uterus in position. It's painless and working but my problem is that the doctor still recommends a hysterectomy and I don't want to wait till I'm too old to have it done....but is it really necessary? ouch. I'm in my early 50's.
