Default What are the importance of breastfeeding for those new born babies?

Most mothers nowadays prefer breastfeeding than giving manufactured milk to their babies? As I have seen in some TV commercial, they are promoting some best milk intended for babies.

Mother's milk is the best food for babies. It contains exactly the right amount of nutrients required, in the right proportions, to ensure that your baby gets the perfect balanced meal.

I whole-heartedly support a woman’s right to breastfeed and a child’s right to be breastfed as it is the most nutritionally right food for a baby. Did you know they did tests that showed babies who were breastfed had an overall higher IQ? They are also less prone to infections and diseases as a young one and later in life.

I think that breastfeeding is a personal choice and support a womans right to choose what is best for her and her infant. That being said I would encourage all women to at the very least to try and breastfeed regardless of how long they do it. Any amount of breastmilk is better than none. So even if you do not think it is realist after returning to work give it a try during you maternatiy leave. You might find that it works for you and your infant or that it does not. It is not only great for the infant but the mother as well and is also a great money saver as well.

Another benefit to breastfeeding is that immunities from the mother are passed to the infant in breast milk. This makes it less likely that the baby will get sick. Breast milk also is unlikely to cause allergic reactions, unless the mother eats something the baby is sensitive to. Breastfed babies typically swallow less air when nursing than bottlefed babies do when eating, so tummy troubles are less likely.

I think a woman has the right and the choice to determine if she wants to breastfeed or not. If a woman does not truly want to breastfeed but feels obligated it is going to make it hard. I chose not to breastfeed my child. It just wasn’t right for me. I used formula for the first while. Once she was able to have milk I gave her soy milk. To this day that is all she has had. I just think there are way too many chemicals and hormones pumped into cows.

I have heard all the debates about how breast fed children are less likely to be sick, but my child has been sick less than others that were breast fed. It just depends on the child.

I breastfed my son for a number of reasons. I read that kids who were breastfed as infants have a lower chance of being obese when they got older, and supposedly their IQ's were higher. I also heard that women who breastfed lost the baby weight a lot faster.
