My husband and I have been wanting to adopt a baby the last few years. We are seriously considering adopting a baby with Downs (as we are feeling that is what the Lord is calling us to do ) Wondering if there are any moms out there who have any experience with those blessings from God and what health issues seem to afflict them. I know many suffer with heart issues, but I was wondering if anyone could provide further insight.

I personally can not offer you and advice, but I do have a suggestion. I volunteer for the Special Olympics for my county. I did not understand what it meant to be handicapped until I got around these special children. Volunteering and helping these children changed my life! I would say maybe you should do something like that to see first hand what it is like to be around a special needs child all day. It can be very demanding, but it is so worth it. It will change your outlook on everything.
