Default Waking up at 3 AM each night linked to digestion

Greetings all! This is my first thread on this site!

I just wanted to start a thread that's gotten a lot of attention lately. That's waking up around 3 AM at night. I've looked into this a lot and found this to be a topic that has a lot of myth and conjecture surounding it.
I want to put in my contribution to this subject so I hope this helps anyone looking for answers about this.

First, I'm pretty convinced that digestion has a big part to play in this. If you'll notice most people that are talking about this are baby boomers ( 45 to 55 years old ). That's about the time that the digestive system, if it hasen't been paid attention to and subjected to a North American diet, will start to become disfunctional and stress out the Liver and Pancreas.
As the digestive cycle gets disrupted from everything from a weakened colon to undigested food to a Liver that can't keep up, waking up around 3 AM is kind of a warning signal from your body.

This affected me personaly and my personal solution was to rehabilited my digestive system. This involved Colonics, changing my diet to mostly raw food, lots of water, smaller meals, exercise and other therapies too lenghty to talk about here.

Anyway, I just wanted to throw my ball into the court. I think this problem is so widespread and so badly represented that it desparatly needs some good quality discussion.
