Someone told me about this "mental disorder" called Alektorophobia and I decided to google it.
I was surprised to read that Alektorophobia is for real and it is the fear of chickens!
Seriously, did they really have to make up a name for this? How about the fear of cats? or dogs? or snakes? Do they have names for those too???

Yup.. Am sure they all have names.. Check out The Phobia List.. They have every phobia listed under the sun.. People can develop a phobia to anything and everything, that is the *scary* part..
For isntance, fear of clowns is called Coulrophobia.. Clowns are thought to be smiling, fun guys but there are people who fear them immensely..

You know my mother-in-law has the fear of chickens---actually anything with feathers. I had never heard of that until my husband told me about it. I have the usually fears-spiders and snakes mainly. My oldest daughter is terrified of clowns and my husband has this thing with lizards...he does not like them at all. I guess my family pretty much has that phobia list covered. lol:
