Default Being Overweight and Osteoporosis

Although being overweight is generally unhealthy and causes great harm to the human body, I read that it might be slightly beneficial for post-menopausal women in preventing bone breakage.

According to a study by the National Institute of Health, women with low BMIs experience the highest rates of bone breakage while women with moderate to slightly higher BMIs have the lowest bone breakage rates.

Interesting!

Interesting...

It doesn't seem to make sense does it...I think it seems counterintuitive because I'm assuming that lower BMI means that they are more active and therefore should have stronger bones..but that isn't necessarily true.

In my experience a poor diet and acidic pH levels along with inactivity are the biggest underlying causes of osteoporosis.
