Default Dead animal found in man's Pepsi can

This is pretty disgusting! Can you imagine drinking from a soda can before realizing that there were some animal remains inside of it?

FDA test confirms animal was in man's soda can

An FDA test shows that either a frog or a toad was in a Florida man's soda can. The Food and Drug Administration test confirmed that the remains of an animal were in Fred Denegri's can of Diet Pepsi. Denegri popped the can open July 23 as he was grilling dinner outdoors in Ormond Beach.

A Pepsi spokesman said the company is aware of the FDA testing and stands by its manufacturing process. The can was traced back to a plant in Orlando, which runs about 1,250 cans a minute on the production line. The spokesman says the speed of the production lines and the rigor of its quality control make it virtually impossible for a frog or toad to get into a can.

Denegri said he is certain the animal was in the can before he opened it.

We've all read stories like this. Remember the story about the finger a lady found in her chili? After the investigation, we found out that she put it there so that she could sue the Wendy's for money. Wendy's lost a lot of customers during that time. I know I was one of the many people who stopped eating there. I felt silly after I found out it was all a big scam.
I am not saying this man is lying. He may not have put the frog in his drink. He was cooking outside when he opened the can. Maybe he turned his back for a few minutes and a little baby frog jumped in his drink and drowned. I grew up in an area where there were tons of baby frogs. They'd get in everything...it was crazy. Or maybe one of his kids were playing a sick joke on him and put the frog in his drink and now that the news has gone national, they are afraid to tell their dad what they did.
Pepsi is a HUGE company. They are not going to risk the name of the company for a mistake like this.
That's just my opinion. I'd love to hear what others think??? What do you think happened??

Apparently, this man isn't lying. If you read the article, you can see that the FDA did some tests and confirm that the dead rodent had been in the man's Pepsi can.

Oh, that is just nasty! I would be pretty traumatized if that happened to me. I wonder how the frog or toad got in the can to begin with?

I guess that guy won't be drinking Pepsi ever again! What rotten luck.

I read the article. The test did confirm that the dead rodent had been in the man's pepsi can but what it can't do is tell us how long the animal was in there. And if the animal HAD BEEN in his drink, where is it now? Did the man give it to the FDA to test it (to see how long it's been dead)?
I can go outside right now, grab a dead animal, put it in my drink, call the FDA and have them test my opened drink and their tests WILL confirm that there was a dead animal in my drink. Or I can open a soda can while I'm grilling, turn my back for a few minutes, maybe even have a conversation with my guests and while my back is turned a frog hops into my drink and drowns. I turn back and that's when I find the dead animal so I call the FDA really believing the animal was in my soda before I opened it. The FDA tests the drink and confirms the animal had been in there.

I never said the man was lying. What I said was that he may have believed the animal was in his drink before he opened it but maybe it was put there without his knowledge by his silly kids or maybe it hopped in and drowned.

You know what? Just reading the title was enough for me. I could just imagine myself not wanting to drink from any canned beverages after that.

That is so freaky. I would absolutely freak out if I discovered a whole animal in my foods. But did you know that animal parts are in your foods all the time, and the FDA 100% allows it? Yes, there are often rodent hairs and insect parts in your foods, and as long as the animal parts are below a certain number, the FDA allows it. That kinda freaks me out.

I remember learning about that when I took an Entomology course. My professor told us that chocolate has cockroach parts in it. I was totally gross out and gave up chocolate for about a day. Even though I know there's parts of cockroaches in my chocolate, I can't help but eat it.
