Are you for or against spanking to discipline a child?

    

I think it is apsolutly wrong. You cant just hit your child, without your neighber saying your a bad mother then them telling someone else which gets leeked to media and what not. To disipline a child i would just send them to there room and tell them they are to stay in there room untill they have learnt that what they did is wrong , or just ground them but i would never hit a child it is just wrong.

I would never spank a child. Not only it doesn't solve anything, it actually makes the child be afraid of you. I think there are better ways to get a child to behave, talking being just one of them.

Spanking is a pretty harsh punishment, I know that I would never do that to my children.

I remember being spanked, usually by my dad until he passed away then my mom. My dad did it pretty hard and in my opinion to much. My mom was even worse. In my opinion, spanking a child under 10 is fine as long as it isn't hard. If it leaves bruises etc then don't do it. Really they should find better ways to punish a child than spanking. I will however not rule out the complete possibility of spanking a child, just not hard.

I'm completely against spanking ..
I'm 110% sure the technique won't work at all in making your child disciplined. . It's better to have a friendly talk with your child..
Think for a while, even you were a child once !!

For me, it really depends on on the situation. As possible, I won't ever spank a child but if he/she crossed the line and I reached the peak of my temper, I will, but not that hard.

in my view spanking is not a good way to treat a child because sometime it goes in negative and child gets against parents.Instead of spanking we must treat them hard and sometime strict rather then hitting them always

I WOULD DEFINITELY SPANK MY CHILD>
I WOULD HIT HIM/HER.
I WOULD BRUISE THEM.
I WOULD MAKE SURE THEY CRY.
I WILL SHOUT AT THEM.
I WILL ONLY INCREASE THE INTENSITY IF THEY OBJECT.

I too believe that spanking my child is not good as it will have adverse effects on the mentality on your child.In future he may also spank his child just like he was spanked and that's not good.Try to be a good parent and talk to your child about the problems or mistakes done by him.This will be an important step to inculcate good moral values in his nature.Your child will become a good citizen if you provide him the required environment during childhood.Children are a gift of GOD.

It totally depends on the situation. The intensity of spanking is also to be taken into account.
Behavior of children are different in different situations, so it has to be handled differently.
So, according to me, spank only when necessary and as slowly as possible.
