PCOS and Progesterone Cream
I have read that many women use progesterone cream in their battle with PCOS. I am curious to know if anyone on here has tried it and what their results were? I am also curious what kind of progesterone cream you used and where/how you bought it (natural food store, online or plain ol' walmart).
I know, tons of questions. But there are just tons of brands out there and I don't know much about this stuff other than the little that I have read about it---nobody gives details though. When I do find someone that does, they end up trying to sell me some miracle cream.

I used progesterone “oil” for about 3 months once to help regulate my period and to help shrink a particularly painful ovarian cyst. I used a brand that I bought online called Progestelle (1 oz) by women’s therapeutic institute I can’t remember the website where I found it, but at that time I was doing a lot of research on PCOS and it led me to buying some progesterone. It worked very well for me, and I haven’t had any real problems in 3 years—the longest time yet.
I do remember reading that you really shouldn’t use it for too long of a time since it does build up in the system.

Thanks for the info. Have your periods stayed regulated since you used the progesterone cream? That is wonderful news if they have! I have not gotten my period in several months now. Some women would love to not get their period in months. Me, I want it. It makes me feel that everything is going OK in my body. When I do not get it, I worry. When I was on BC pills, I got it every month like clockwork.

My periods gradually became very light, and only lasted I day and at the same time I felt the pain of cysts growing stronger on my ovaries. That’s why I looked into using progesterone oil. I used the oil until the pain of the cysts went away—3 months. While taking the oil, it forced my periods to be regular and normal again. If I remember right, for each month--I used the oil for 21 days and stopped for the next 7 days (and had my periods during those 7 days). My periods have been regular ever since.

Thank you so much for the information. I am going to give progesterone oil a try. It has been months since my last period and I think I am a little overdue for one .
Did the oil also help with other PCOS symptoms as well?

The progesterone oil helped me by "shrinking" my cysts, and with regulating my periods over time, but not much more than that. It did nothing for my insulin resistance. I still have problems losing weight.

Have you read any articles about PCOS and progesterone cream by Dr. Lee? I stumbled upon a couple of them and that is how I became interested in the use of progesterone cream. I always get so skeptical when I read things that sound too good to be true. But from what I read, progesterone cream has worked wonders for some women with PCOS.
I read that many of the symptoms we get are relieved too by using it. Wouldn't that be great!

Yes, I have heard of Dr. Lee. In fact, I have a book that he wrote called “What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Premenopause”. It’s about how women can balance their hormones. I think I need to read the book again soon.

That is actually one of the books I was going to tell you about. I myself have not read it but read all about it online. I plan on getting the book this weekend. I have not ordered my progesterone oil yet. I figured I would try to get it locally but only found the cream. I am excited to try it. I have been exercising and watching my food intake these past few weeks. Not much weight loss, but I feel better. I am hoping with exercise my periods will get normal. I think in conjunction with the progesterone oil, they will.
