Symptoms
Depending on where the spinal cord and nerve roots are damaged, the symptoms can vary widely, from pain to paralysis to incontinence. Some common symptoms are given bellow:
- Back pain
- Weakness
- Loss of sensation (such as the ability to feel a light touch, pain, temperature, or vibration)
- Changes in reflexes
- Loss of bladder control (urinary incontinence)
- Loss of bowel control (fecal incontinence)
- Erectile dysfunction
- Paralysis
