Diets that work
I've tried a few diets and found some that have worked for me but of course, once I stopped, the weight was back on. Weight watchers was easy enough to do. I joined the online version but I think I could have used the support of others to stay on track. It didn't last long before I went back to fast food eating.
Then I tried the Atkins diet. It worked great the first two weeks! I lost weight fast. About 12 pounds in one week but after that it just didn't want to work any more and I was dying for BREAD! Once bite of bread and I blew up like a blow fish. I know this diet works for many people but you need to do it right the first time. It's called the golden week because if you go off this diet and try it again, it never quite works the same the second time around. I still resort to this no/low carb diet when I want to lose weight quick..it's just not as quick as it use to be.
Right now I'm doing the Michael Thurman diet. You never feel hungry and I've been losing about 2 pounds a day. Its all about money though. I just don't have the money to buy the food I must eat every day. I have four kids and have to buy what they like to eat too. But for now, I'm doing my quick fix of two weeks of dieting just to get back in shape.
I'd love to hear which diet has worked best for you and if you're able to keep it off.

The best diet is to change your diet for life. You need to change your lifestyle...your eating habits. Set small goals and work toward them slowly. Set ONE long term goal. Use your short term goals to reach your long term goal. So if you want to lose 12 lbs by the end of the year set small goals to reach that. So you would set a small goal to lose a pound a week. If you want to eat healthier, change your food slowly. Week 1, you can switch from whole milk to low fat. Week 2, switch from coke to diet coke, week three, get rid of the mayo and start using mustard or yogurt instead. Same thing goes for exercising. Start small. Walk around the block and every couple of days add a little more. Eventually it will become a habit and you'll eat healthier naturally and you'll automatically start working out. Eventually you can start running if you want. Make sure you do something that you love. If you hate running, then don't run. Walk, take a yoga class, do aerobics in the privacy of your home...just make sure you're doing something you enjoy that way you will stick with it.
As for the diets you have tried, don't waste your time on them. Our bodies are built a certain way. We need nutrients to keep going. Eliminated carbs or meat or whatever the diet wants you to eliminate will only hurt your health in the long run. All you have to do is eat in moderation. I was once overweight. I was able to lose the weight and keep it off (for 13 years). I eat what I want just not as much as I want. If I want a chocolate, I'll eat half. Or if I want a slice of cake, I eat it but I make sure it's a small slice. I eat enough to satisfy. Same goes for bread except I eat whole wheat. No white flour. Switch from white flour to whole wheat and you will see a difference. and you will feel the difference too.
Be sure to take a before and after picture and post it on your fridge. It will keep you motivated to work toward your goal. I do that and it works. It keeps me from snacking mindlessly (because I don't want to be a big girl again) and I stay focused on maintaining my weight. I actually have a health blog but i won't post the link here because I don't want to advertise but you can do that. I keeps me on track and makes me accountable.

If you're trying to lose weight fast, your low-carb diet can work to do that (especially if you cut bad carbs like sugars). But, just about any fad diet out there will help you do that. Cutting the carbs short-term can be an effective weight loss tool.
But, low-carb diets and other fad diets are hard to maintain because your body needs all the macronutrients (carbs, protein and fat). That's why its easy for low-carb and fad dieters to "fall off the wagon" and begin to binge.
After 100 years of dieting history, health professionals agree that the best solution is regular exercise and good nutrition. Fat loss is more important than weight loss! Focus on changing your body composition (more muscle, less fat) by lifting weights and doing cardio. This will speed up your metabolism and keep you lean. Focus on losing inches, not weight. That will keep the weight off.

Hi,
I agree with @MyFitnessHut about low-carb diets not offering a permanent solution. I've tried Atkins so many times and while it does jumpstart the weight loss, I've gotta stick to an exercise and diet control program to make it last and work for long. Infact, that is what I'm doing currently. Regularly exercising and eating sensibly. It is easy and doable once you get started!!

I have tried soo many diets it's ridiculous. I have found that changing what I eat helps alot. I really don't eat alot it is what I eat. I am a junk food junkie lol. I have cut out my junk food and started drinking this juice I had been hearing so much about. I am seeing changes but I am also wearing this great garment. Good luck in your weight loss.

From personal experience, and research, I've learned that the whole theory behind atkins diet (low, controlled amounts of carbs), fails with a lot of people because it's so hard to do consistently over long periods of time. The weight you lose at the beginning is water weight, which is why you lose it so fast. That's not even body fat, so it's misleading. Losing that first bit of weight that quickly makes people think it's a miracle diet. It's not!
Losing weight can be simple.
Track your daily calorie intake and keep in a calorie deficit everyday.
Do some kind of weight training exercises 3 days a week to build muscle, as muscle burns away fat.
Do whatever type of cardio you can stand to do for 30 minutes, and do this the 3 days your not lifting weights.

This site really helped me. I started on this system for its natural qualities and no hassles. I stay with it and now use other products they offer. I saved lots of money on meals, including coffee, and clothes that were starting to get borderline. The products are natural and you have personal advisors to help you.

Try any diets which contains high quality protein, i mean you should orginize your everyday meal, try to eat products include soy protein, fiber and essential nutrients that can help support metabolism, cellular growth repair and production. Or you can always replace your food with any nutritions such as Formula 1 from Herbalife. For loss weight start to replace your daily breakfast and supper with Formula 1 milkshakes + for dinner you should take your regular food. Believe me, this protein diet will help, by the way, never skip any food intake.
