Default What is Diabetic Footwear?

One of the most overlooked and, quite often, needed medical apparel items are diabetic footwear. Many diabetics suffering from diabetic foot problems or numbness are not familiar with the purpose of such footwear or why it is needed. So, the first question to answer about diabetic footwear is exactly what it is. Of course, that would lead to the very next question which would be how diabetic footwear would help.

Many people dealing with poorly controlled diabetes may suffer from damage to their nervous system. In particular, the diabetes nerve damage can occur in the feet. A common result of this would be residual numbness which is extremely problematic. When your feet become numb, you may not notice minor injuries. This, in turn, means you do not get quick, proper treatment for the problems. Such a scenario may lead to the problem becoming far, far worse. Diabetes shoes, plus inspecting your feet daily can certainly reverse a number of dangerous problems or prevent such issues from occurring in the first place.

I suffer from Diabetes and finding good footwear has been an uphill struggle for me but I saw as advert for the Crocs Diabetic Clogs in the Daily Mail and bought them from LoveThoseShoes.com. To be honest I was a bit dubious as half of me thought they might be brandishing diabetes around just to make some extra money without actually having any substance. In fact they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn, the foot bed is soft, they protect the toes and heels and there are no areas which would rub the feet – I can no longer wear trainers as the stitching rubs my feet and causes sores. Another plus point for me is how easy they are to clean, I have to be very careful about keeping my shoes very clean and I can put these in the washing machine overnight. I would thoroughly recommend these for any diabetes sufferers as they have helped me so much.
