Default Easing Cramps Naturally

When menstrual cramps start coming on, employ these natural techniques to feel better. Make yourself a nice cup of warm tea. You can also take a warm compress and place on your pelvic area. Make sure you diet has sufficient magnesium as this can lead to more painful cramps. Get plenty of rest and drink lots of fluids.

I like to use the sticky heating pads that they sell for back pain. On bad cramp days that I absolutely have to work these are a lifesaver.

If you can force yourself out of bed to walk for a bit (10 - 15 minutes) it can help shorten the amount of time the cramps last.

Laying on my side with a pillow between my knees helps with associated back pain.

Chocolate always helps!

I have to have the pillow between my knees.
I will second that Chocolate is the only thing that keeps me from slapping someone during that time!
I have never thought of using the back patches for cramps, but that makes so much sense. I am going to have to stock up on those.

My grandma always said to use a lot of water and eat bananas. I don't know if that is a scientific remedy or not but that advice came from her mother who was a midwife in the mountains. Maybe it makes me feel better now because it makes me think of my granny

Well I know about the water, but didn't know about the bananas. I wonder if it has to do with the potassium. I think I vaguely remember that if your diet is lacking potassium, you get bad cramps. So this makes sense. That's neat she was a midwife. Thank you for the tip.
